Jackson Women's Health Organization ruling, the federal constitutional right to abortion was overturned, resulting in reproductive healthcare access for women that varies significantly across state lines 9 10. While some states have codified protections or passed shield laws to ensure access, others have implemented restrictive bans 7 8 16. However, the claim that legal rights for men remain uniform is misleading because gender-affirming healthcare—which applies to men—is also subject to a patchwork of varying state laws and legal protections 7 13 15. Legal scholars note that an avalanche of state-level actions has created a landscape where bodily autonomy and healthcare access are no longer uniform for many individuals, regardless of gender 13 17. Furthermore, universal principles of nondiscrimination and equality regarding sexual and reproductive health are currently identified as being under threat rather than remaining uniform 5 19.
