WHAT WE FOUND

Multiple high-credibility sources, including NASA, confirm that the Great Wall of China is not visible from the moon 12. Research indicates that the limitation of the human eye makes the wall difficult or impossible to see from space without aid, even in low-Earth orbit 34. The structure is narrow and its color blends with the surrounding natural environment 56. Furthermore, the claim that it is the only man-made object visible from space is a longstanding myth 78. Other artificial structures, such as city lights, highways, and dams, are actually easier to see than the Great Wall 79.
