WHAT WE FOUND

The New Testament Gospels do not contain any recorded instances of Jesus Christ using the term homosexuality or speaking directly about same-sex behavior 1 7 14. Scholars and theologians often describe this claim as misleading because Jesus frequently addressed sexual immorality (porneia) and the traditional definition of marriage 8 11. In the cultural context of first-century Judea, sexual immorality was understood to include homosexual acts 10 18. Consequently, while no explicit discourse exists 3 9, many interpret his affirmations of marriage between a man and a woman as an implicit rejection of other forms of sexual conduct 5 13.
