“The UFC arena was built using over $60 million in private UFC funds.”
TL;DR ·The $60 million price tag includes significant federal resources alongside private UFC funding.
While a $60 million arena was constructed on the White House South Lawn , the claim that it was funded exclusively by private UFC money is misleading. High-credibility reporting indicates that while the UFC spent more than $60 million on development and production , the project also required substantial taxpayer-funded support . Specifically, seven federal agencies provided coordination and resources to stage the event , and the government provided emergency funding or resources to facilitate the build . The Hill clarifies that the $60 million expenditure is a combined total from both federal agencies and the UFC . Consequently, the claim omits the critical context of publicly funded involvement and tens of thousands of hours of federal labor . Readers are encouraged to review Source 11 to judge the breakdown of these costs for themselves.
