Statements from Collin County prosecutors and reporting from Forbes indicate that while the jury was mostly white, it included members of other minority groups, such as individuals of Asian or Hispanic descent (CBS News Texas, June 10, 2026; Forbes, June 11, 2026). The Guardian explicitly corrected an earlier headline that described the jury as all-white to clarify that the panel specifically lacked Black members rather than all non-white members (The Guardian, June 6, 2026). The absence of Black jurors was the subject of an unsuccessful Batson challenge by the defense, which contended that the prosecution improperly struck Black prospective jurors during selection (KERA News, June 10, 2026; Fox 4 News, June 3, 2026).
