Neil Armstrong became the first human to walk on the moon on July 20, 1969 2912. Serving as the commander of NASA's Apollo 11 mission, Armstrong and Edwin Buzz Aldrin landed the lunar module Eagle in the Sea of Tranquility 41011. At 10:56 pm EDT, Armstrong stepped onto the surface and famously stated, That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind 412.
