WHAT WE FOUND

While the claim refers to Mark oranges, this is a typographical error for the Mock orange (Philadelphus), a shrub renowned for its intense fragrance 1 3. Multiple sources confirm it is one of the most sweetly fragrant shrubs you can grow 5. Its flowers produce aromatic compounds that closely resemble citrus blossoms, which is how the plant earned its common name 2 6. Expert accounts describe the scent as heavenly 4 and among the world's most devastatingly delicious flower fragrances 7. However, the claim requires clarification as not all 40 species of mock orange possess this signature aroma 5, and individual scent receptors can vary, meaning some people may perceive the fragrance differently 1.
