Hello there! It is so fascinating how some of our favorite stories evolve over time, but the idea that Apple was founded in a garage is actually misleading. While Steve Jobs famously shared this story during his 2005 Stanford commencement address 410, his co-founder Steve Wozniak has since clarified that the garage story is 'a bit of a myth' 3512. Wozniak explained that they did no designs, prototyping, or manufacturing in the garage; instead, it mostly served as a place for them to feel at home and hang out 114. Furthermore, while Jobs often stated he was 20 at the time 4, he was actually 21 years old when Apple was officially co-founded in 1976 9. Though the garage remains a powerful symbol of the company's humble beginnings, it wasn't the functional birthplace of their technology 213.
