“Barack Obama flew in a personal trainer from Chicago at least once a week at taxpayer expense.”
LEANS FALSE · HIGH CONFIDENCE
TL;DR ·Obama's trainer moved to D.C., contradicting claims of weekly taxpayer-funded flights from Chicago.
The trainer mentioned in such claims is Cornell McClellan, who was originally based in Chicago . However, McClellan relocated to Washington, D.C. during the Obama administration to train the President, the First Lady, and other White House staff . This relocation directly contradicts the central claim that he was flown from Chicago to D.C. on a recurring weekly basis. While conservative groups like Judicial Watch estimated the total cost of Obama-era travel at between $96 million and $100 million over eight years , these figures primarily cover Air Force One operations (costing roughly $180,000 per hour), Secret Service protection, and the official entourage . There is no documented evidence in public records or FOIA-released travel logs to support the allegation of taxpayer-funded weekly flights specifically for a personal trainer . Furthermore, fact-checkers have previously identified viral social media posts regarding Obama's vacation costs as fake or highly misleading .
